Heart BOMB Project

In January 2023, Karen Scarlett invited the Innisfail Art Club to join her to launched the Community Crochet Heart BOMB Project.

*UPDATE*

Installation date for this community project was June 3, 2023 from 10am-3pm. More than 300 community volunteers came out to add more than 3000 handmade hearts to the fences at Autumn Grove Lodge and the Innisfail Hospital.

The Plan – We planned all kinds of community interaction and festivities. A Bar-B-Q  and entertainment was enjoyed by everyone who came to the event.

The entire community was invited to download our free knitting and crochet “heart” patterns and weave up a storm to create hearts to adorn chain link fences in our community, more specifically between the Innisfail Health Centre (hospital) and the Autumn Grove Seniors Lodge.

The BOMB project continued through the winter months and installation will happened in the spring.

Within 48 hours of the project being launched,  over 70 patterns had been downloaded, not only from local Innisfail residents but from all over North America. Spots like Northern Ontario,  Florida, Colorado, Arizona,  Vancouver, all over Alberta, the Maritimes and a few places on Vancouver Island.
